I'm not really surprised. iMPACT! has been so-so since the episode after BFG. And this is coming from a so called "TNA mark".

how are these in relation to WWE?
Impact regularly beats WWE Superstars in the ratings. Rection usually gets a lower rating than Superstars but they usually have more viewers (rating and number of viewers both have to be looked at since the rating depends on the hour of the day). TNA doesn't compare to SmackDown or Raw in the ratings.
Here's the WWE ratings thread: http://www.pwsforums.com/threads/144...-Thread/page14
iMPACT always beat SuperStars, but can't beat any other show (Smackdown or Raw). I see the 1.1s as a constant rating (TNA get a 1.0/1.1 pretty much every week) and it shows that the same fans are tuning in, and that TNA isn't getting bigger, but their budget is getting smaller.. TNA need to cut some guys, and realise that it's all about quality and not about name-power in the main event scene.
fuck well I dont think TNA will ever beat raw but ok superstars is beat now target beating smackdown they need to do something to get more viewers market the product more I dont know what I hate about impact is matches a shorter WWE dont do that on raw matches will end in count outs or DQ's if there going to be short.
- Last night's episode of Impact did a 1.15 rating, which is the highest for the show since November 11th. Its 18-49 demographic rating was also the highest since that show.

Thursday's Impact did a 1.25 rating - its highest number since October.
The show opened with a 1.41 quarter hour. The second was a 1.31. As the show went on, the quarters mostly went down, to a low 1.07 for the 10:30 to 10:45 quarter.

I enjoyed the 1/13 edition of Impact as it rounds off to 1.3 million.
I enjoyed the show as well, really strong.
You are just a little mistaken on the numbers though...
The rating for the 1/13/2011 Impact! episode was a 1.25 which rounds up to a 1.3 rating.
The show averaged 1.7 million viewers not 1.3 , just a little correction there.
These numbers are before DVR numbers as well, I believe which usually add a couple points and a couple 100,000 viewers to the ratings, so yeah really solid showing by TNA this week.
As mentioned yesterday, the 1/13 edition of Impact did a 1.25 rating, which was its highest number since the 10/14/10 show that aired after Bound For Glory. That show did a 1.4 and peaked with 1.5 quarter hours at the start of the show.
Thursday's Impact followed the same pattern, as the show opened with a 1.41 quarter hour. The second was a 1.31. As the show went on, the quarters mostly went down, to a low 1.07 for the 10:30 to 10:45 quarter.
I think it's pretty clear by looking at these numbers that there was interest to see what happened at the PPV, and probably also to see what they would do with Matt Hardy. But losing 24% of the audience from the first quarter to the seventh is not a positive trend. TNA has to find a way to keep that 24% who tuned out glued to the product for the entire show if they want to make the gains that they need to achieve.
