TNAwrestling.com has learned that Christy Hemme has sustained a neck injury while training in the ring with AJ Styles for Sunday's Women's Championship match.
According to TNA officials, Hemme will be unable to compete at "Genesis" against Awesome Kong.
Unfortunately, her injury will require surgery and she will be out of action for an undetermined amount of time.
On Sunday, TNA Management Director Jim Cornette will name a replacement to face Kong for the Women's Championship.
Everyone at TNA wishes Christy all the best and we will certainly update fans on her condition as we learn more information.

Sucks that this has happened, hopefully we get some details on it like when it happened/how it happened, I mean they taped all the recent shows almost a month ago, not sure if they've had house shows recently (where a ring would be set up to train)

Hopefully this is a work and she is not really injured. The good news about all of this is that hopefully we don't see her wrestle at the ppv and someone more capable takes over.

I bet it's gonna be Taylor Wilde who will face Kong again. It almost makes it not even worth having a match cause we know Kong is gonna win no matter what or who her opponent is.

I hate to see anyone get injured, but I'm glad Christy won't be challenging for the Knockouts Title for the second straight PPV. She's showing a lot of improvement in the ring, but IMO, she still has a long way to go before she'll be ready to hold the title.
