PWS Creative Section Rules
Writers:
- Each writer may write a maximum of one feds. I say this because most times out of many, people can only write and maintain one creative... But, IF you think you can handle two, I will allow you to. Writing a second fed is only advised however if you have the time and effort to run both well. Don't bother doing so if you don't have those two things. Don't give up on a fed straight away, these take a lot of planning and need a lot of patience so don't just give up easily. The one fed rule does not apply to co-opted feds, but please... do only what you can. I don't want to set rules on co-opted feds as well, but keep it down to what YOU CAN HANDLE.
- Keep everything regarding your fed in one thread. If I spot multiple threads about your fed whether it's "HOW DO YOU LIKE MY SHOWS???" or even if it's a thread exclusive for your fed's PPVs, I will either delete it on sight or merge it to your original thread depending on the content.
- Do not advertise any other forum in a post/thread. It will be deleted immediately. Although, if it's a made-up website like www.tnaspoilers.com it's ok to post them. If you have created an official site for your fed like some people do, it's alright to post them as long as you don't start a new thread on it. Obviously, there is no way around using the real site if you're using an active fed like WWE or TNA, but try to use a fake site if you can.
- Your fed must only contain your own work, or that of you and a named partner(s). Permission may be given for banners and additions if the creator has allowed you and is given credit. However, the actual content must be written by you (and/or your partner(s) if a co-opted fed). Ripped material will not only have your fed closed, it will also result in a ban from the forum.
- Don't advertise your thread in other people's. If you give a review, you can request one in return, but it should be a decent review and not merely a one-lined attempt to sneak yourself a bit of publicity. (VERY IMPORTANT RULE
- If you choose to stop a fed, talk to the Creative Moderator via PM, Shoutbox, of (if you have to) (this also applies if you wish a fed name change). The mod will close your thread, and you will then be allowed to begin another. If however, you frequently stop and start feds, you may be given a time delay before being allowed to start another.
Reviewers:
- When it comes to reviews, it's good to just be honest. That's what most writers want. If you give tonnes of praise to some n00b who just posted his first show and say things like "OMG best show ever!!! They should m0d you!!!" they're not going to improve. They'll just keep doing the same bad shows, not realising it and thinking they're great. Don't be afraid to criticise. Writers, if someone just rips your show to pieces, listing every single negative thing, don't start complaining to them and flaming. If in their review, they said things such as, "That show was uber crap~!!!Just give up and get a lyfe!!!", then report it to me and I will delete the post and request a ban on them. But remember, if someone gives a negative review and does it in a casual way with no flaming, don't go nuts on them, they’re trying to help.
- Reviews are not to be at the level of a spam post. This means there has to be no simple “Gr8 show, 10/10”. Try to give more detail. Also, do not use reviews simply as a means of advertising your own fed, however if you do a detailed review, you are allowed to ask for the favour to be returned. If you cannot think how to write a good review, you can use the template displayed below (inspired by Shock):
Best Match of the show-
Best Promo of the show-
Best Storyline of the show-
Improvements needed-
Additional Comments-
Rate-
This is an optional form of reviewing, if you have a preferred way (such as “The Good and The Bad” style, or the “Play by Play” review style) that is fine, however if you are going to only give a one line review I’d advise instead breaking the show down into the format above.
- The final rule is perhaps the most important (albeit, least punishable):
Enjoy yourself.
