Default Samoa Joe vs Jushin Liger Written Match

    Got bored, wrote a match.

Samoa Joe and Jushin Liger are standing on opposite sides of the ring, looking at each other. Joe cracks his knuckles, and rolls his neck, keeping his eyes on the Junior Legend. Liger just stands there, waiting. The ref rings the bell to start the match. Liger and Joe meet in the middle, both men going into a grapple, but Joe shoves Liger down, and looks at him. Liger gets back up, and asks for a test of strength, Joe accepts it, and takes advantage. Joe sweeps the leg, and goes down, but Liger uses his feet to block Joe, and kick him off. Liger then sweeps Joe’s leg, and goes for the quick cover, 1, Joe shoves Liger off with power. Liger and Joe get up, and Joe lariats Liger down. Joe picks Liger back up, and begins hitting palm thrusts, but Liger comes back, hitting Joe in the fast with palm thrusts of his own. Liger whips Joe into the ropes, but Joe reverses it, and goes for a lariat. Liger ducks the lariat, and comes back, hitting Joe with a dropkick. Joe gets staggered from the input, and Liger quickly hits an enzugiri on Joe, taking him down. Joe drops to the outside, but Liger runs, and planchas on top of Joe on the outside. Liger gets up, and tries to whip Joe into the ring, but Joe reverses and whips Liger into the steel steps. Joe looks at the ref, who has counted to four, and gets in the ring. Joe runs to the other side of the ring, and motions for Liger to get up. Liger does, and Joe runs at him. Joe with a Suicide Dive, restarting the count, but Liger sidesteps, and Joe goes into the guardrail! Liger capitalizes with a couple stomps at Joe, then leg drops him. Liger gets Joe back into the ring, at the count of seven, and follows.

Liger picks Joe up, and decides to go for the Liger Bomb, setting Joe up, but Joe just flips Liger over. Joe puts Liger in a seated position, and chops him in the back. He follows this up with a soccer ball kick to the chest, knocking Liger back on his back, then Joe finishes it off with a jumping knee drop. Joe with the pin, 1...2.… Liger gets the shoulder up. Joe picks Liger up, and then sends him into the corner turnbuckle. Joe rushes at Liger, going for the huge Kenka Kick to the face, but Liger ducks, and Joe gets hung up on the turnbuckle. Liger with a German Suplex with the bridge, 1...2.… Kickout! Liger motions to end it, and picks Joe up, going for a Brainbuster, but Joe drops behind and locks in The Clutch! However, the move has to be broken, because Liger has his foot on the ropes! Joe continues to have the hold cinched in during the count, and lets go at four, right before he gets disqualified. Joe picks Liger up, and whips him into the ropes, Joe with a huge STO off the rebound, and a pin, 1.…2... Liger Kicks out once again. Joe is looking quite frustrated at not being able to put away Liger, he picks Liger up, and pushes him into the corner. After a few blows, Liger lays in the corner. Joe then gives Liger a facewash, then runs off the ropes, coming back to hit Liger in the face with a running knee. Another pin by Joe, 1...2.… Another kick out by Liger. Joe picks Liger up, but Liger pushes Joe into the corner, and hits a rolling wheel kick on Joe! Joe goes down. Liger picks Joe up, and begins hitting him with palm thrusts. Liger gives Joe a Hurricanrana and then quickly ascends the turnbuckle. MOONSAULT by Liger hits, and he quickly hooks Joe’s leg for the cover, 1...2.… Joe gets the shoulder up. Liger picks Joe up, and gives him a Belly to Back Suplex, and heads back up the turnbuckle. Jushin Liger with the Frog Splash, but Joe gets his knees up, blocking the splash! Joe quickly gets up, and logs in the STF on Liger. Liger is struggling to get anywhere, but Joe eventually gets angry at Liger for not tapping, so he breaks the hold himself. Joe then picks Liger up, and Powerbombs him down for a pin, 1...2... Kickout, but Joe turns the kickout into a Boston Crab! Only Liger’s determination breaks the hold, as he reaches the ropes. Joe picks Liger up, and gives him an atomic drop, then runs off the ropes, Joe comes back going for a big front dropkick, but Liger ducks the attack, and locks in an Indian Deathlock. Joe reaches the ropes, breaking the hold, though it took it’s toll.

Liger decides to head up the turnbuckle, but Joe makes contact with the ropes, causing Liger to get caught on the turnbuckle. Joe heads up top, and tosses Liger over his head. Liger lands on his feet, though, and powerbombs Joe off the turnbuckle, and goes for a cover, 1.…2.…. Joe kicks out! Liger quickly gets on Joe, and begins to drop palm thrusts on Joe’s face, but Joe pushes Liger off, and gets up on his feet. Liger runs at Joe, but Joe basically hits Liger with a huge chop, and begins hitting strike after strike on Liger, then gets behind him, suplexing him across the ring. Joe quickly runs and hits a senton on Liger, then picks him up again. Joe pushes Liger into the corner, and hits Liger with the Muscle Buster, then goes for the cover, 1...2.… LIGER KICKS OUT! Joe can’t believe it, and he picks Liger up, and begins hitting him with forearms, but Liger drop toe holds Joe down, and quickly picks Joe up, giving him a brainbuster! Instead of pinning, Liger ascends the turnbuckle once more. Liger with a shooting star press on Joe, and he hooks the leg! 1.…2.…. JOE KICKS OUT! Liger motions for the Ligerbomb, and he lifts Joe up, however, during the running, Joe slips behind Liger. Liger stops, and attempts to turn around, but it’s too late, Joe locks in The Clutch! Liger attempts to fight the hold, but Joe has it in the middle of the ring this time! The ref is checking on Liger, seeing if he submits, while Joe is smiling as he continues to increase the pain of the hold. Liger holds on for a moment more, then finally gives up, due to the submission. Joe is told to let go, but he holds on the move for a bit longer, sending a message, not only to Liger, but to everyone else. Joe finally lets go, and then climbs the turnbuckle, looking at the crowd, doing the cut throat taunt that he’s known for doing, as Liger exits the ring, obviously beaten up.

    Okay, comments, reviews, other stuff?

A good match written. I like the lighter tone used to write this match. Nicely orchestrated with both men doing their job well and Jushin Liger looked very powerful here. All in all, it looked like one of those really good matches they put up at NJPW.

Nothing negative, except that I could not mark out for something particular, in the match, I mean like, telling your pals "Did you see that?!" But again, that is not necessary, every time. A great match!

    Thanks for the comment.

Yeah, I know there were no OMG moments, but really, I wanted to see if I could put together a good structured match without one. If I wanted to do the whole OMG thing, Liger'd be diving outside of the ring, only to get kicked in the face by Joe.
