Mark Henry's Royal Rumble Status
Mark Henry's Royal Rumble Status
Posted by: Ben Kerin of WrestlingNewsSource.com on Jan 29 2012
Mark Henry is still scheduled for the World Heavyweight Championship Cage Match at tonight’s Royal Rumble. Henry is believed to have suffered a hyperextended knee at Tuesday’s SmackDown tapings in Tucson, Arizona. As a precation Henry was removed from last night’s WWE Supershow.

As a precaution he shouldn't be on any show. Just cause it's the Rumble doesn't mean he's exempt from making it worse tonight.
I understand his and WWE's reluctance in him missing such a big PPV, but he should take a quick breather.

Don't tell me what I would or would not do.
I play sports. I know getting hurt, I know playing through the pain and I know the lasting effects of doing it.
Him getting minor injuries once or twice is no big deal, but he's proven to have issues and he's already been hurt several times. If they didn't want him to miss the Rumble then they shouldn't have had him risking exacerbation in matches beforehand. Him doing promos and backstage segments wouldn't have killed anything. He's a star player, and you protect your star players.

Mark Henry Update
Mark Henry's status in the storylines is that he is "suspended indefinitely" after putting his hands on Teddy Long during Friday's SmackDown. Henry is actually taking time off to deal with injuries but should be back in time for WrestleMania 28.

2 Is Greater Than 1! 2 Is
Injury on RAW
Eve Torres was rushed backstage as soon as she tagged out of the ring during the eight Divas tag match on Raw. Torres was drilled hard by a Beth Phoenix clothesline. She was severely bleeding from her nose and the immediate word we are getting is that she suffered a broken nose.

But then she showed up with Kane, so what's up with that? Either this was heavily exaggerated, since her nose looked fine, or that segment was taped.

What's odd is that in the Diva's Match, the surgical gloves (or whatever they are called) that the Ref was wearing was MUCH more noticable in that Match then any other Match during the Show or any previous Match that I can Remember.

FOLEY, STYLES REACT TO ZACK RYDER'S BIG BUMP LAST NIGHT
Mick Foley and Joey Styles, no stranger to taking part and calling big bumps during their career, commented on the Raw ending fall Zack Ryder took being flung off the side of the Raw entrance stage, wheelchair and all, by Kane, via their Twitter accounts:
Joey Styles: "That was one the worst falls I have ever seen and that includes Original ECW."
Mick Foley: “Wow, sincerely hope @ZackRyder is going to be ok. – that looked like a nasty landing. Ankles, knees, spine all looked to be in jeopardy."
"Yeah, @Joeystyles I’m legit concerned for @zackryder. There’s just way too much risk there. That fall off the ramp might not be something you can get through with fortitude and ice packs. Zack has such a bright future; I hate to see his knees, ankles and spine at such risk. That’s the type of thing that could cost him weeks or months at the most vital time of his career."

WWE Confirms Randy Orton's Injury; Will Not Compete On Sunday
-- To confirm our previous report, WWE has announced that Randy Orton suffered a concussion on Raw last night after being hit in the head with the World Heavyweight Championship. He will not be cleared to compete at Sunday's Elimination Chamber PPV.
This is most likely a storyline reason to explain why he was pulled from the PPV. When we get more details on on his injury, we'll pass them along.
