-IMPACT opens with Hulk Hogan coming to the ring. He talks about listening to Eric Bischoff over the past few years and how he had to make a difference at Bound For Glory when he helped Sting. Hogan apologizes then leaves the ring.
Sting and Dixie Carter comes out. Dixie said she wished she would have listened to Sting long ago but she didn't. Dixie is back in charge and wants Sting to help her run the company. Sting agrees to the role. Kurt Angle comes out and trash talks Sting for a little bit before he is interrupted by Bobby Roode. Roode gets in Angle's face and says what happened at BFG was bullshit. He asked Sting for a rematch tonight against Angle. Sting was about to make the match but Angle revealed that according to a contract, BFG was Bobby Roode's one and only shot at Angle's championship.
James Storm comes out and stands up for Roode. There is nothing preventing Storm from getting a title match. Sting makes Angle vs Storm tonight for the World Heavyweight Title.
-Tara and Tessmacher defeated Winter and Angelina Love to retain the Knockouts Tag Team Titles.
-Jeff and Karen Jarrett come to the ring and run down Hardy. Hardy comes out and the two have some words. Much like Bound For Glory, the two get into a brawl which is separated by security and agents. This time however, Jarrett hits a low blow on Hardy and leaves the ring.
-Abyss defeated Gunner by Countout when Gunner left the ring.
-Karen Jarrett and Velvet Sky are now out in the ring as Karen is trash talking Velvet. Madison Rayne is making her way to the ring but as Velvet is distracted on her, the returning Gail Kim runs in through the crowd and attacks Velvet. Karen, Madison and Gail all leave together to end the segment.
-Eric Bischoff and Immortal come to the ring and call out Hulk Hogan, who comes to the ring as well. Bischoff runs down Hogan eventually slapping the Immortal one. Immortal and Bischoff retreat when Sting comes out and hands Hogan a bat. As they are walking up the ramp, Bischoff walks into his son Garrett (referee Jackson James). The two have words which eventually leads to Garrett laying out Eric. The segment ends there.
-James Storm defeated Kurt Angle in a very short match with the Superkick to win the World Heavyweight Championship. After the match, Fortune comes out and celebrates with Storm.
james storm won in a short match. i take it was done because of kurt hurting his hamstring. personally me just nitpicking it would have more emotional a grand feeling had james won in a hard fought 20-30 minute match. hopefully this means a serious feud between bobby and kurt to make bobby ready. then same time build james storm up as world champion. making him the measuring stick in the company. then go the davey richards and eddie edwards route and have them wrestle a clinic when they meet.
also can someone tell me when this television title belt will actually be defended and mean something?
IT'S NOT A SMALL WORLD. IT'S A PAINFUL UGLY WORLD!
They are setting up a Beer Money feud for the World Title. Roode is the better personality for a heel turn since most TNA fans are beer swilling rednecks like James Storms character.
"Look! Up in the sky!" "It's a bird!" "It's a plane!" "It's Superman!"

Exactly! Well that's at least my thinking on it, but just never know with TNA. I think Storm won the title the wrong way though. Why not force Dixie to have Kurt defend, but Kurt has to pull out through injury so he relinquishes the title. Then let Roode go against Storm for it in a 20-30 minute match, with Storm winning. As Storm celebrates, Roode low-blows him. This means Roode is a heel, Storm a face, and Angle gets time off and gets a legit title shot when he gets back. Make sense?
This definitely means Roode's mega-push as a babyface is truly over. Seems like quite the swerve to put the belt on Storm so soon with little to no build after hyping his partner up. As others have said there's definitely a Storm/Roode feud coming up and that could be all kinds of awesome.
I think TNA (and especially Hogan) see Storm as more marketable babyface as an American, beer drinking, ass-kicking cowboy than they see in Roode as a Canadian but either of these guys could play the heel or face in the feud and it would be excellent.
Huge congrats to Storm though he's been one of the most entertaining wrestlers in TNA for the last 4 years since the AMW split and has definitely earned his run with the World Title.
I would like to see a Roode heel turn and challenge Storm for the title and go off on his on. Roode is a great heel and works great when he is by himself. The only way TNA can mess it up is if Roode joins Immortal. It looks like Flair is going to lead Bully Ray, Gunner and Steiner. Jarrett has his thing with Hardy, Again. And Kurt is going to take some time off to heal. Fortune and Immortal should both disband and everybody go their way. I would like to see Storm and Roode go at it, throw Kaz to the X-Division and A.J. and Daniels go for a good bit.

I gotta admit if I thought James Storm was not a singles star waiting to happen,I was dead ass wrong. He was the driving force behing both AMW and Beer Money in the tag team division. Sorry 'bout your DAMN LUCK Bobby Roode
It is very cool to read that James Storm wins the World Heavyweight Title on Impact. I am looking forward to seeing it. To be honest he was not the one original i was pulling for in the BFG series. I was pulling for Joe and A.J. When it came down to the final four, Storm was the one i wanted to see go all the way. They did a great build-up for Roode and it looks like they were going to give it to him but it was said that Hogan, Hulk Hogan, Terry Bollea lobbied for him not to get the title. So, Hogan you have buried yourself in my book. No matter what else you will do you will go down in my book as a douche. Again I would just like to say that Fortune and Immortal should all just disband and go their own way. They both ran their course and its all time for everybody to do their own thing.
