    UPDATE

    - Matt Morgan was crowned the first Heavyweight Champion of TNA’s new Ring Ka King promotion in India after he defeated top heel Scott Steiner in the finals of an eight-man tournament.

Chavo Guerrero and David Hart Smith were crowned the promotion’s first Tag Team Champions.

It’s being reported that Steiner caused a near-riot with fans during a six-man match that was taped this week. The match saw Smith, Guerrero and Morgan take on Steiner, Magnus and Sonjay Dutt.

Jeremy Borash wrote the following this week regarding the India project:

“Great 2nd day of TV in India just wrapped. Tonight’s crowd was insane, most seeing wrestling for the first time. Enthusiasm off the charts.”

“The most heel heat I’ve seen in 15 years tonight in India. This will be amazing TV. Congrats to the team. Forgot how fun this can be.”

    - Chavo Guerrero, who holds the Tag Team Titles for TNA’s new Ring Ka King promotion in India, wrote the following on Twitter regarding the tapings:

“In India right now, and had an INCREDIBLE wrestling experience last night! Never have seen anything like this in 18 yrs of wrestling!!

“Great crew in India, inside the ring &out. Really making me LOVE wrestling again!”

    - A report from TNA’s Ring Ka King tapings in India suggests that former WWE Superstar David Hart Smith is performing under a cowboy gimmick. Months ago before his WWE release, officials toyed with the idea of Smith doing a cowboy gimmick. Smith currently holds the RKK Tag Team Titles with Chavo Guerrero.

Names linked to TNA’s Ring Ka King promotion in India include Matt Morgan (World Champion), Chavo Guerrero (Tag Champion), David Hart Smith (Tag Champion), Scott Steiner, Chris Masters, Luke Gallows, Nick Dinsmore, Daivari, Abyss, Sonjay Dutt, Zema Ion, Trevor Murdoch, Magnus, Cliff Compton, Joey Ryan, Jimmy Rave, Mickie James, Alissa Flash and other local wrestlers.

Default Matt Morgan wins world title in India

MATT MORGAN has become the first heavyweight champion of TNA's new Ring Ka King promotion in India.

Morgan defeated Scott Steiner in the final of an eight-man tournament to lift the strap after a hard-hitting battle.

Also on the card, TNA newcomers Chavo Guerrero and David Hart Smith became the first holders of the promotion's tag team title.

Steiner proved to be a very 'over' heel with the Indian fans and had the crowd at fever pitch with his antics during a six-man match that was taped this week.

Ring Ka King is proving to be a very successful venture for TNA and the project, managed by Jeff Jarrett, will see a number of TNA stars appear on regular TV shows and live events.

After the show, Jeremy Borash tweeted: "Great second day of TV in India just wrapped.

"Tonight's crowd was insane, most seeing wrestling for the first time. Enthusiasm off the charts.

"The most heel heat I've seen in 15 years tonight in India. This will be amazing TV. Congrats to the team. Forgot how fun this can be."
