Do we really need to be reminded during EVERY match that involves someone he's wrestled (mainly the former ECW guys) that he's been in the ring with them? There's been plenty of former wrestlers turned commentators that rarely ever bring up the fact that they were once wrestlers.
Jerry Lawler does the exact same thing, Matt Striker does the exact same thing, most wrestlers turned comments DO bring it up quite often. He hardly does it ALL the time, but he does have a lot of history with these guys, especially the ECW guys, so why not? Doesn't bother me.
Does Lawler bring up his wrestling days that often? I admit, I'm not a huge fan of the WWE, but I haven't heard Lawyer bring up his wrestling career that often. And yes, Taz does it all the time. He already did it once tonight.

He brings it up quite a bit, like he says things like how he knows personally how hard Sheamus hits (that seems to come up every week ) and other things. It's bound to happen, don't think it's a big deal.
Lawler brings up his time in the ring every once in a while, but Taz literally does it during every Impact taping.

Other ex-wrestlers turned commentators have done this often & it's no big deal if it relates to the match or puts the other guy over (like how last week he said he knew RVD real well & put over his fighting style with his kicks) like how Lawler & Striker & others in the past have done but if it's a case like how J.B.L. used to put himself over when it had nothing to do with anything or anyone in the match then it's a problem. Tenay, West, Borash or any other regulars in the booth have never wrestled a match so of course you wouldn't have heard that in TNA's past before he got there & most of the times I've caught that is when Tenay brought it up that Taz has history with the other guy in the ring. I'm more frustrated with Taz always attempting to find some joke or punchline more than anything else.

I have no problem with that, Every one who sits in that table they have always talk about there past, how they uses to wrestler inside that ring. Shit even Cole does it he talks about being the best journalist and WWE is not even about being a journalist. Like I said every commentator will talk about there past, even if its not related to wrestling.
It's probably annoying to hear Taz talk about his ring experience every week now because its harder to take this version of Taz as seriously as the old Taz...so its harder to care about what he's saying. I dunno, that may be a reason.
Taz is pretty boring on commentary to me. Maybe if he sounded more like old angry Taz, then it would be different. If he had more bass in his voice, called the holds more (using proper Judo terms), left off most of the comedy, and was more business. That might get old for him, but I'd rather hear that. I remember hearing him call an Eliminators tag match with Styles and thinking he did a great job.
I have absolutley no problem with it.For me Taz can talk about his wrestling experiences as much as he wants to.First of all Taz has earned it and secondley his career was cut short way to soon.Plus, when he does talk about his time in the ring with someone like Tommy Dreamer or Kurt 'fricken' Angle it helps put them over and legitimize them.
BTW,I find Taz hilarious on commentary, like the time he refered to Roxxi as having a butcher boys haircut and called her offense rocktacious.I find his butchering of the english language extermely entertaining.Pun intended!

So let the pigions loose!
Have to agree and I will add as well that it does not bother me at all.
