Now that 2011 is over, Rod Sterling of FWA.com (The Sterling Report) is weighing in on the 15 worst contract signings of 2011, a few turkeys on this list that may better left forgotten.
James Sync
Sync came back in early 2011 claiming this run would be different than his last 5. We have to wonder what Matthew Robinson was smoking when he signed Sync, given his history of no showing events and shotty performance when he actually does. Sync was somewhat of a big deal a few years back, but is now mainly a parody of the competitor he could have been. This years Sync the honor of WORST WRESTLER of 2011.
Cyrus Parker
Endorsed by Sync himself, this guy came to the FWA claiming big things, but like James Sync, he was full of hot air. This dingleberry didn't last but a month in the FWA, but was hyped heavily
Jonny Sniper
He could have been a star, was transferred to Fight Night from CrossFire for Ryan Rondo. Seems like a raw deal to us.
Dick The Clown/Jermaine Johnson
After years of sucking it up as a borderline jobber, Jermaine Johnson wanted to revamp his gimmick as a perverted Clown named Dick, who is accompanied to the ring by children and his finishing move involved molsesting his opponents. Matthew Robinson was quick to deny this gimmick, but Jermaine Johnson still wore the Dick The Clown outfit in Club FWA, which brought a lot of heat down on Jermaine. Yet, for some off reason, Robinson brought Jermaine Johnson back with his original gimmick, and he still did absolutely nothing.
Mark Reynolds
Reynolds came back and was instantly given a Young Lions shot, which he won, yet still did nothing but complain about his spot in the company before violating his contract and leaving the company while still holding The Young Lions championship, which is what caused the belt to fall form prominence some say. Reynolds says he has personal reasons and would still love to return to FWA someday, but that remains doubtful. Sieg Holt
Came to the FWA, butchered both the English and German language and then disapeared without a single win to his credit.
Anthony "Problem Child" Jacobs
Another case of "could have been a star" as this guy had potential, unfortunately he was released early on in his FWA career due to poor performance.
Diego "DZTRYR" Martinez
Speaking of someone butchering the English language, No one was more guilty of this than Diego Martinez. A classic line from his broken English laden debut promo was "I'm bored of kicking ass in Chile, now I want to kick their asses cute". Diego talked a big game, but ultimately did nothing and was quickly released.
Rio Jones "Mr. 4th of July" "Mr. Box Office Smash"
This guy had too many nick names for sucking as bad as he did.
Johnny Octane We were all surprised when Octane suddenly quit as he had "Future champion" written all over him. Octane joined another fed while still under FWA contract. That's pretty dirty, but we wish him the best of luck regardless.
Max and Vincent
Which one is Max and which one is Vincent? Even we don't know. And we don't care.
The 2-Fly kid
Uggh. Next....
Julian Night
The one guy who should not be on this list, but I was given no choice given his stats. If you have watched local wrestling in Cold Creek Colorado, you know Night is the real deal. But after 2 failed, short and winless runs in the FWA, It's pretty safe to say that Night doesn't have much to brag about as far as his short FWA career goes. An angle was being developed where the wealthy Night was to purchase the Fight Night brand, but the angle was dropped and Night slowly disappeared off of TV after losing to Chris Kennedy's bodyguard Joey Bones. Ouch.
Scott Chadwick
I met Scott Chadwick a week ago at McDonalds. He messed up my order big time.
Who will be on this list next year? That's up to the FWA roster! Stay tuned!
