    Default Important News Item Ignored

Try to find information on the National Defense Authorization Act. It was signed into law on New Year's Eve. The only mainstream article that I can find that goes into any detail is from Forbes. You'll find very little on ABC, NBC, and CBS websites.

Here's the article. You should read it: http://www.forbes.com/sites/erikkain...-act-now-what/

If you just ignore it and say it's not important, then...

“The fact that I support this bill as a whole does not mean I agree with everything in it,” the president said in a statement. “

Seriously?.....No surprise it did not make front page.

Ron Paul talks about the bill in the first several minutes of this video. He's the only one with courage. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LxsLx59UYDU

He could have vetoed the bill. He's not even being cautious.

Thats really getting into dangerous territory with a government able to detain anyone without any proof of guilt for as long as they want. And pretty discrageful by Obama to sign it in while not agreeing with it.

It's politics. He wouldn't have signed it if he didn't agree with it.

I assume he said that in a vein attempt to save face as it seems like a very controversial situation.

Not sure. That's the hard question. CIA? Military? CFR? There are also lobbyists for different issues. I have no idea who gets anything out of this except the president since he gets even more power. The blame isn't all on Obama, since most of Congress created and passed the bill. Less than 100 voted against it.

You can see who voted for what here. http://www.govtrack.us/congress/vote.xpd?vote=h2011-375
