Default WWE House Show Results from Oakland, California 1/15/12

Report sent in by Jordan A.

    The arena was mostly full.

Miz came out and cut a promo on how the 49ers are going to lose if they make it to the Superbowl. He was interrupted by R-Truth, who entered through the crowd. John Laurinaitis and David Otunga came out and set up a match between Miz and Truth.

R-Truth beat the Miz in a decent Match.

Brodus Clay beat Tyler Reks. Reks actually had the upper hand for most of the match.

Ryback beat Alex Riley. Crowd was dead for this match.

Epico and Primo beat Air Boom to become the new WWE Tag Team Champions after Primo pinned Bourne. Very unexpected outcome, and many people in attendance seemed shocked. Epico and Primo then celebrated in the ring with Rosa for a while before heading to the back.

Justin Roberts began to promote the Smackdown house show in San Francisco next month, but was interrupted by Chris Jericho. Jericho got a mic, but Jack Swagger came out before he could speak. Swagger took shots at the Raiders, and then said that Jericho looked stupid in his flashy jacket and that he should leave. Jericho then put Swagger in the Walls of Jericho to end the segment.

Justin Robert then finished his promo, and then announced a 15 minute intermission.

After the break, Beth Phoenix retained the Divas Championship against Eve Torres with Nikki Bella as the guest referee and Brie Bella as time keeper. Eve had Beth pinned after a moonsault off the top rope, but Nikki faked an arm injury before she could count to three. Beth then hit the Glam Slam on Eve for the win. Nikki counted the pin extremely quickly. After the match, the Bellas tried ganging up on Eve, but she ended up gaining the upper hand and scared them backstage.

John Cena beat Kane by DQ after Kane hit Cena with a chair. Kane dominated Cena right up until the end. After hitting Cena with the chair, Kane chokeslammed Cena and started to leave, but came back after it was announced that Cena won. Kane set up Cena for the Tombstone, but Cena reversed it into the AA, which connected. Kane got up rather quickly, but Cena fended him off with the chair Kane used on him, causing Kane to retreat. Cena then posed for the fans before heading backstage.

I noticed a lot of families with kids who had Cena merchandise left after the Cena vs Kane match. After this became apparent, Justin Roberts thanked everyone for coming before the main event.

CM Punk retained the WWE Championship against Dolph Ziggler in the main event. Before the match, John Laurinaitis cut a promo wishing Punk good luck. Punk then told Ziggler and Laurinaitis that they could both kiss his ass. Halfway through the match, the referee was knocked out, and didn't see Ziggler tap when Punk put him in the Anaconda Vice. David Otunga came out with a new ref, but kept pulling the ref aside to yell at him whenever Punk would pin Ziggler, and telling the ref to hurry up and count whenever Ziggler pinned Punk. Punk became very angry, and Otunga told him that because he was a lawyer, Punk couldn't touch him. Punk then hit the GTS on Otunga, and then hit the GTS on Ziggler for the win. Punk then posed for the fans to end the show.

It was a good show overall, with a very unexpected outcome for the tag match. I'd have to give the show an 8 out of 10.

I'm sorry but the repeated Beth Vs Eve with the Bellas as Time Keeper/Referee is getting really really boring

They do that before the main event regardless.
