I've noticed that too. They really need to leave the Impact Zone and I don't care if it's money issues as I'm sure someone will soon point it. If money's STILL an issue after all these years, then they need a new owner that is willing to invest in TNA.
Don't they hire some models to stand in the pit? That's why I suspect you see the same two girls in direct view of the camera. They could just be diehard wrestling fans.
I don't even know if the Crucial Crew hangs out in the Impact Zone anymore. You used to see those same guys every week, but I don't notice them.
I know people say its free to see TNA, but you still have to pay to get into Universal Studios. I bet you have to pay to park too. So it's not really free in that sense. I guess if you own an unlimited yearly pass, then you can go to all the tapings. If not, it'll cost a lot.

I don't know how it is at Universal in Flordia but at Universal in Hollywood, I don't have to pay to get in the park just to attend the TV tapings (do pay for parking though) so not sure if that's an issue. Remember that they tape episodes back to back on the same day at times so your going to see the same people...if it's free then you will see the same regulars no different than how Hat Guy was always in the same seat at the ECW arena no matter what show it was...and there are regulars who just attend all the time which I can testify to because you'll always see me in the same spot on every PWG DVD or NWA Hollywood episode that I decide to attend to.
I always wondered the same thing... until I moved here to Orlando. I've been to the last 8 or 9 tapings and of the 700-800 people there (they say it holds 1000 but nobody's ever sitting in the right side bleachers except at PPVs) about 50 are regulars. At least a few of the Crucial Crew guys still go. I've seen them scattered around. Not the little Beetlejuice looking guy, but remember the tall guy who always wore the big sunglasses? At one of the TV tapings in January a guy with him won a raffle by Direct Auto for several hundred dollars to use on TNA merchandise.
Those guys always annoyed me with their stupid chants trying to get on TV, so I became a fan of the guy who stood to the left of them in his Hulkamania bandana and sunglasses flashing a multitude of Hogan signs. They really seemed to hate it after Hogan came to TNA, and this guy would heckle them the whole show and they'd get so annoyed. I haven't seen him there or I would definitely say hi.
The two girls who always stand in the middle, one of the regulars told me one of them is related to someone working for TNA. At the last show we were standing next to them and between matches SoCal Val kept coming over to tell them stuff. One time she said something about there was going to be a fight on the floor the next match so they should move down to the corner by the ramp. Immediately they did a bunch of "excuse me"s as they slid past 20 people to the corner. Sure enough the next match there was a fight right in front of them and they were all over TV. I think it was the last show before the UK tour, the match before Angelina & Winter. Sad part is, there were two young kids with Jeff Hardy gear, colored mohawks, and Fan Xperience IDs who lost their spots because of it. It says in the VIP email that audience members may be repositioned for TV purposes, but given TNA's fan friendly atmosphere I don't think they would have done that to two potential lifetime fans who spent $99 each to get the fan pack and VIP seating. But those girls definitely didn't seem to mind moving them aside to get their TV time.
Anyway, if you want to know how it works, here goes. It's $15 to park in Universal parking garage (free after 6pm), then you go into City Walk (shop and restaurant area) for free. You don't have to buy a ticket for Universal or anything. They just have a gate over by the Blue Man Group stage where everyone waits, then gets escorted in an hour before the show. At the show JB says to email so-and-so and you can be a VIP. For VIP you go there between 10am-4pm, show them the VIP email, and get a little red ticket like at a carnival or raffle. You come back at 4:30pm to form the VIP line, then at 5 or 5:30pm they let you in to the in-park line, then 6pm to the soundstage, then show starts at 7pm.
The trick is there are 3 lines. The VIPs which I just explained, the regular line for everyone who gets in last, and the "special kids" who go all the time and/or know someone working for TNA. The special kids come any time they like and go right to the front. It's made known they are separate from everyone else. They must go straight to the stage cause I've never seen them in the in-park line.
On a side note, there's not much point in being VIP. We did it once and got front row, but had to spend 3 hours in line before the show plus 3 more standing during the show. The other times we've showed up 20 minutes before the show to 5 minutes after the show started, and still got 2nd or 3rd row in the pit. The entrance is a hallway that ends at the pit, so you can just jump right in or go find a seat wherever you want. Makes it easy when you're 800th and don't want to wait in line!
No idea why this conversation is still occurring as it is evident TNA has the main goal of no longer having to do shows there. They are doing arena shows more and more so just be patient. No idea why people are watching the fans anyway.
the Impact Zone sucks, period.
one thing that i allways notice is how dead the Orlando crowd is, then i see the Wembley shows and there's a whole different deal.
if TNA has the goal of being the new WCW (in a possitive way), one of the main things to do is to start taping every show on different venues, the vibe of a crowd that paid their tickets to see Wrestling is something different to that dead theme park crowd that looks like they're tourists for the most part

the only competition Wrestling needs is the one beetween the Wrestlers, not the companies... if WWE, TNA and ROH could just stop taking shots on each other and fully focus on the growth of their products, that would make a lot of people happy
