The flashes of the cameras are going of repeatedly in the gymnasium at Woodside High School, a press conference has been called with the promise of a major announcement from Darnell Porter. Sitting at the podium with Darnell are his mother, brother, sister, and fiancée. Looking into the crowd shows a number of family and close friends amongst the people there.
Darnell: This press conference brings me full circle, it was here at Woodside High School all those years ago when I began making a name for myself due to my athletic exploits. At this same school I’ am here today to announce my retirement from professional wrestling due to a heart condition. Recently during a checkup my physician detected an aortic aneurysm in my heart. After consulting with leading cardiac specialists and my family, the decision was made to completely repair my condition, and doctors indicated to me that I should be able to resume a career in sports down the road, when that exact point is I’ am not a hundred percent sure. So I will be having the surgery very soon and hopefully all will go well.
Darnell: As for the FWA if they need me to for promotional work, or to do some work as a on air personality or agent, or even help in the development in the next generation of stars I would be willing to listen to those proposals. Who knows once I’ am fully recovered a in ring return could be in the cards but as of this moment my focus will be on my recovery. To the fans of the FWA I thank all of y’all, you guys are the best fans in the world. To management even though we haven’t always seen eye to eye you guys allowed me to perform on your stage so I’ am thankful in that regard. To the wrestlers, announcers, referees, road agents, and anyone who worked for the FWA it was one hell of a ride. Special considerations go out to Adrian Wolf & Stu St. Clair who always made me work at my best in the ring and were always concerned with me out of the ring. Next time the drinks will be on me. In conclusion this is not the final story in the book of Darnell Porter, it is just the ending of a chapter because one day I will be back.
OOC: Had to be done, my schedule doesn't allow me must time to promo and it's not fair to everyone else who gives 100% when i'am giving 75%, if I can't give 100% than I need to step aside and make room for those who can. I really did enjoy my time in the FWA, people were flexible with me in trying to make things work but sometimes things don't go the way you want them to do. As a fan I will continue to follow the FWA, it's a well done show and who knows what the future holds
Hopefully you can come back when your schedule permits
