Default TNA Star Named Most Overrated Wrestler Of 2011

Crimson has been named Most Overrated Wrestler in the 2011 Wrestling Observer Newsletter Awards. He is trailed by Mason Ryan, Kevin Nash, Mr. Anderson, Jeff Hardy, Triple H, Sin Cara, Matt Morgan, CM Punk and Randy Orton.

Regarding Crimson, Wrestling Observer editor Dave Meltzer wrote, "Crimson is probably the prime example of a guy who isn't overrated by fans, but pushed to a level that hasn't really worked. He's got size, and good facials at times, and a good look and comes across like a tough guy. But he doesn't sell well and comes across as green, and gets exposed often in long matches. Plus, TNA can't even book an unbeaten streak well."

The award, which was instituted in 1980, is determined through a voting process by the readership of the newsletter, which includes various insiders of the professional wrestling industry, such as promoters, agents and performers, as well as journalists, historians and fans.

Can't disagree with that. It had to be either him or Morgan.

Not many TNA fans left at that site after Mrs Alvarez chased them all away with his drivel . . .

    But I'm not wrong . . .

Not sure how this makes sense, nobody in their right mind has ever rated Crimson so how can he be overrated?

Funnily enough, I actually quite like Crimson these days!

He still has a long way to go, but in my opinion he's quite improved over the last few months...

His criticism of TNA is hilarious though, one of the few things that makes subscribing to that site worth it.

Crimson comes off as a Goldberg wantabe. TNA management needs to understand that their veiwers are mostly the loyal TNA fans. By that I mean the guys they have been fans for years. There is little proof ratings wise to support they are getting new ones. When they see a green guy like Crimson take apart guys that they want to see pushed like AJ, Joe and Pope he is not going to be viewed favorable. The Goldberg streak just seemed to happen organically but this looks like Bishoff wanted to repeat the 90's. The 90's are gone let it go and do something different. Joes undefeated streak was much better. He demantled the X division with 5 star matches.

Crimson sucks pretty bad, and I was never a fan of Morgan. I always liked Kevin Nash but him going over Punk every week on Raw in segments in promos when it never even lead to a match, that was bullshit. I agree with Ultimate Warrior (shock) when he said Nash was just an old prick trying to steal the limelight from the younger guys.

I don't see how Punk is overrated, if you don't think he is magic in the ring and gold on the mic then your opinion isn't really worth too much as you have horrible judgement.
Triple-H, I like, but he has always been a bit overrated. He calls himself the King of Kings, when there are several others better than him. Unless King Of Kings is a reference to his political power then that's the only way that moniker makes sense.
Randy Orton and Mr. Anderson? Yeah, they have always sucked. Both are pretty bland in the ring, the difference between the two is that Orton bores the hell out of me, and Anderson annoys me and not in an entertaining way.

I think its more a list of guys that their respective companies overated. Most of those guys have been undeservedly megapushed or just rammed down our throats.

The fact that Triple H wrestled like 2 times in 2011 and is on the list at such a high spot shows me the list was put together by a group of idiots. I do however agree that Crimson is overrated.

Morgan, Punk and Orton aren't overrated.

"We’re fighting because Anderson doesn’t want to fight me. Anderson trained with Munoz, he got destroyed by Munoz, he doesn’t want to fight Mark. Ed Soares, Anderson’s manager, worked diligently behind the scenes to make Mark and I fight each other. So I don’t have a big problem fighting Mark. my resentment is that Anderson got his way.”
