TNA Wrestling 2005

So, UFC fed I can't keep up with, it is too much for me to do and I want to try my hand at a wrestling fed because I know it won't be as broad as it is and I can keep up with it. So I decided I will do TNA 2005, basically from when Christian Cage joined onwards. As you can guess I am a big Christian fan and this was my favourite period of TNA so we shall see what happens!

Apparently, at tonight's impact tapings, Sabu is present as well as Teddy Hart and Jack Evans. As well as the unknown businessman... we know who he is but we won't reveal it, let's just say he's from Tampa Bay. It is not known whether any of the wrestlers mentioned will make an appearance although with a hardcore match on the card, i wouldn't bet against Sabu not being there. It's also become a big rumour in the locker room (no one has been told their match result yet.) that at least one title is scheduled to change, Jeff Jarrett is extremely uneasy about this for some reason.

TNA Wrestling Impact! – Thursday 17th November 2005

We open up with a recap of Genesis. The camera then cuts to Tenay who tells us that there is a mystery businessman in the building tonight.

Right on cue, music hits, coroporate sounding music hits and a quiet hush falls over the Impact Zone as outsteps a man in an Armani suit, walking to the ring almost arrogantly. He takes a mic and steps into the six sided ring.

Dan Rondo: I know you are all wondering who I am. Or even why I am here. Now, first of all, my name is Dan Rondo. I am a businessman from Tampa Bay. I am the NEW owner of TNA. Now, you might not like it but I promise you that I have the fans interest at heart.

The fans are still quiet although some are appreciative.

Dan Rondo: Now, Dixie is not going to be here for a while, I’ve still got her employed. She was a friend in High School…

This prompts some wolf whistles and so on from the crowd.

Dan Rondo: Not like that. But she won’t be here until… Aprilish maybe? I don’t know. We shall see. But for now, I am running the show. And I will say now, no one’s job is safe! I want the best out of these guys because you all deserve the best so if I see people slacking.. they’re gone. I will not tolerate second best. We are a wrestling company… not sports entertainment. I am sure you guys will see new faces…

Jeff Jarrett’s music hits and he walks out with his title belt and his guitar with a mic in hand.

Jeff Jarrett: What? New faces? You come in here and don’t mention me, the champion of TNA? That’s a bit disrespectful?

Dan laughs

Dan Rondo: I will mention you if you are still champion after your match tonight, Mr Jarrett.

Jeff Jarrett: About that, I can’t compete tonight, I need my rest!

The fans boo.

Dan Rondo: Oh, Mr Jarrett. I don’t care. I’m your boss and you are going to do exactly as you are told, ok? Now go to the back, stop whinging at me and prepare with your posse. You should thank your lucky stars that I didn’t make all the titles vacant upon my arrival. That’s what Dixie told me to do.

Jeff opens his mouth but shakes his head as the fans chant goodbye to him.

Dan Rondo: Now that is sorted. Let me just say that I care about every single one of you. I know that our first match tonight is going to be a tag title match. America’s Most Wanted will be defending against Team Canada. First of all, everybody on the roster is banned from ringside apart from the competitors, any interference and they get fired. As do whom the interference benefits. And finally… It’s going to be a ladder match!

The fans applaud as we go to commercial break.

TNA Tag Title Ladder Match

The Match: Animosity starts it off but AMW break out of it as Petey grabs a ladder quickly and sets it up, and Chris Harris knocks him down. Roode argues that Williams was allowing them to win and they go back and forth before he takes out AMW both. He takes the ladder down and punishes Harris whilst Williams takes on Storm. Team Canada dominates for a while until Roode is thrown out of the ring by Harris. AMW take on Williams and take turns bashing him with the ladder constantly, they set one up and taunt the crowd before going for the belts. Williams recovers and knocks the ladder over though. The rest of the match constantly switches between AMW and Canada, both having chances.

The Finish: Harris and Storm are both climbing the ladder when Roode knocks it down. He goes to climb it but two masked men run down and beat him up and also beat Williams up before tossing Storm into the ring, he retrieves the belts for the victory.

Winners and STILL TNA Tag Team Champions: America’s Most Wanted

COMMERCIAL

As we come back, Team Canada are in Rondo’s office asking for an immediate rematch and punishment for AMW. Robert Roode knocks down the door and bangs on the desk and shouts at Rondo.

Dan Rondo: Hey! Don’t come in here and bang on my desk. I can’t punish those guys because I don’t know who it was!

Scott D'Amore Punish America’s Most Wanted! We had that match won.

Rondo stands up and walks over.

Dan Rondo: You’re right, mr D’Amore. I will investigate this, Team Canada will get an immediate rematch at the pay per view. Turning Point. Whilst if I find AMW guilty, they will be stripped of the titles and suspended immediately and I will find new opponents for the belts. Now, I have a show to run to it, so if you could kindly leave…

D’Amore scowls as Roode hits a stapler onto the floor in anger and turns around to encounter Chris Harris, they staredown before Team Canada leaves. Harris waits until they are gone then him and Dan Rondo smirk at each other, almost laughing as if they were plotting something.

We go to ringside where Jeremy Borash has spotted Sabu in the audience, and has decided to interview him. Uncharacteristically, Sabu is giving an interview.

JB: Yes, ladies and gentlemen, we have a surprise here as the hardcore legend, Sabu is at ringside! So, Mr Sabu, why are you here tonight?

Sabu: I want to see if there’s anyone in TNA who can match my level of hardcore.

JB: Scouting opponents? Are we going to see you return to the ring sir?

Sabu:That depends if any of the people in the back can match me. But I doubt it. Now, I want to enjoy my match in peace.

Jeremy Borash leaves Sabu as the crowd gives him a pop just as Rhino’s music hits.

Hardcore Rules Match: Rhino vs Raven

The Match: Both men brawl it to begin with and then fight outside next to the cart of weapons Raven brought with him. Rhino gains control first and gets a bin and batters Raven with it. Sabu shouts a few things at Rhino and then eats a binlid shot as Rhino responds to him. Raven uses the distraction to hit Rhino with a kendo stick. Raven keeps using the stick until it snaps. He then throws his cart of weapons off of Rhino. He places a table in a turnbuckle and taunts Sabu, only for Rhino to gore him through it.

The Finish: Rhino goes for the pin but Sabu jumps the railings and breaks the cover, he attacks Rhino with a barb wired 2x4 and Raven and lays them both out with it. The referee declares a no contest as Sabu continues assaulting them before he grabs a mic.

Sabu: These two guys don’t cut it. I challenge someone in that locker room to match my level of hardcore. Bring …

The lights go out as ‘Last Resort’ by Papa Roach hits the PA System to a pop and outsteps CZW Ultraviolent legend NICK MONDO, mic in hand!

Nick Mondo: You know, I’ve been looking for a reason to come out of retirement. I think I found one. You ask for someone to match you level of hardcore? How about you match my level of ULTRAVIOLENCE? At Turning Point?

The fans cheer as Sabu looks genuinely shocked whilst Mondo smiles and poses for the crowd before walking backstage.

COMMERCIAL

We come back from commercial where Shark Boy is backstage, he is speaking to Jeremy Borash.

JB: I am backstage with Shark Boy who claims there is a dragon roaming around backstage tonight.

Shark Boy: It’s true! It isn’t just any dragon that is walking around, it’s tall as hell! It can breathe fire!

JB looks at the camera unamused…

JB: Where is this dragon then?

Shark Boy: I don’t know. He can appear almost out of anywhere. But I am telling you he is a dragon… more than a dragon… he is a DRAGON DRAGON… and THAT’S THE FISHING LINE CAUSE SHARK BOY SAID SO!

Shark Boy walks away as JB shakes his head before bringing the mic back up to his face.

JB: Not many of you may know but Dan Rondo has announced that the X Division title is on the line next as AJ Styles defends it in a fatal four way elimination match. He also announced that whoever comes second will get a shot at Turning Point. So everything is there to play for. Austin Aries is here to give us a little speech.

Austin Aries Thanks JB. Not many of you know this, but AJ Styles is a fraud. He’s a fake. He says he cares about this company but in reality, he doesn’t…

Dan Rondo walks into the picture and cuts Aries off…

Dan Rondo: Now, now, Austin. You have a match to prepare for, don’t start lying to get fans. Because I will expose the truth. Chop, chop.

Aries looks at him bewildered, and then leaves…

Dan Rondo: Now JB, I am changing my statement. The winner of tonight’s X Division match will get to defend the belt in an invitational match. I will find the opponent. Good luck to all participants.

Borash looks at Rondo and then signals to go back to the front as Aries’ music hits.

COMMERCIAL

We come back and are ready to kick off the X Division match.

X Division Title – Fatal Four Way Elimination match
AJ Styles © vs Austin Aries vs Alex Shelley vs Chris Sabin

The Match: Styles and Aries go at it right away whilst Shelley and Sabin fight. These pairings stick until the first elimination. Styles lands a diving clothesline onto all 3 men from inside the ring to the outside. Aries lands a few good superkicks on Styles whilst Sabin gets good DDTs in on Shelley. Sabin looks to hit the Cradleshock on Shelley when Aries dropkicks him and Shelley turns that into a pin attempt, eliminating Sabin. Shelley gloats to Sabin and turns around to a Pele from Styles and is pinned by him.

The Finish: Aries and Styles go at it for a while, both trading high spots and submissions. Styles lands a good jumping clothesline and looks to get the Styles clash but Aries counters into a pin attempt but doesn’t get the fall. Aries knocks Styles down with a neckbreaker and goes for a jumping hurricanrana from the top rope but Styles catches him and places him in the StylesClash and lands it! Styles retains!

Winner and STILL X-Division Champion: AJ Styles

AJ backs up the stage with his title held high as Aries looks on angry at him and he continuously points at him whilst muttering things under his breath.

COMMERCIAL

We come back from commercial break and Dan Rondo is in the ring with a mic in his hand.

Dan Rondo: I have looked into the incident that occurred in the first match of the night and I have caught the culprit behind it all … or should I say culprits. First of all, America’s Most Wanted are now suspended for a month and are stripped of their titles. Team Canada will take on the team that wins the next matchup for the titles. But, there’s more: The Naturals were the masked men. And they are now suspended immediately and out of this matchup, and I am going to replace them with a new team: TEDDY HART AND JACK EVANS!

The Hart Foundation 2.0’s music hits as they come out, getting ready for their matchup. Rondo leaves the ring and lets the matchup begin.

TNA Tag Team Titles No.1 Contendership Three Way Match
The Hart Foundation 2.0 vs Team 3D vs LAX

The Match: A lot of this match seems focused around the Hart foundation getting a beating. But they can take it. Hernandez focuses on Jack Evans and him and Brother Ray constantly switch tagging to work on Evans. Evans eventually tags in Hart who manages to clear the ring until Devon gets him. Devon works on him but Hart sneaks a tag to Homicide and LAX are forced to go against 3D. Homicide gets the upper hand and gets a good few suplexes in but is attacked by Ray. Ray takes out Hart and then takes out Evans and then takes out Hernandez.

The Finish: Homicide takes a 3D and Ray and Devon exit the ring. Ray pushes Devon and shouts GET THE TABLES. As they go under the ring to look for tables, Hart quickly climbs the ropes and hits a 450 splash on Homicide! The ref starts a count, Ray tries to get in but Evans somersaults over the top ropes onto both Ray and Devon and Hart picks up the win!

Winners: The Hart Foundation 2.0

The Hart Foundation quickly back up the ramp as Team 3D look on shocked. We cut to backstage where JB is with TNA World Heavyweight Champ, Jeff Jarrett.

JB: I’m here with the champ, Jeff Jarrett. Big match tonight, JJ, are you ready for this? Do you think you will go into turning point as the champion?

Jeff Jarrett: Let me tell you one thing, JB. I am the best. I am the champion for a reason, I am the best wrestler in the ring today, I am the most cunning man to ever walk into the ring. Monty Brown might be my friend but he’s decided he wants to try and take away my title tonight. And I am not going to let that happen. No way. America’s Most Wanted might be gone, and Gail might not be here tonight but I can show you that a cornered animal is the most dangerous…

Monty Brown walks into the picture and shouts POUNCE! Before leaving…

Jarrett looks scared as he walks away to get ready for his match.

JB:: Don’t go anywhere, the Title is on the line, up next after the commercial!

We come back just as Jeff Jarrett is making his entrance.

TNA World Heavyweight Title Match

The Match: Jarrett starts off trying to get ahead of Brown but Brown constantly knocks him down and keeps getting the upper hand. Jarrett leaves the ring with his belt, utterly frustrated, he walks up the ramp but Brown catches up to him and beats him up outside before tossing him back into the ring. As the referee is returning the belt to the ringside, Jarrett hits Brown with a lowblow to gain control. Jarrett keeps Brown grounded and hits a few DDTs and keeps control for most of the match.

The Finish: Jarrett goes to hit Brown with the Stroke but gets thrown into the referee. Brown then hits the Pounce! But he cannot make the cover. He tries to get the ref up but to no avail, Jarrett low blows him and then hits the Stroke! He goes outside for the guitar and looks to level Brown with it but all of a sudden…. CHRISTIAN CAGE’S MUSIC HITS. Jarrett throws his guitar out of the ring and walks up to the front ropes to look as Cage appears at the top of the stage, smirking and posing to the crowd, Jarrett looks angered and distraught. And he turns around INTO A POUNCE! Monty Brown makes the cover for the victory!

Winner and NEW TNA WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPION: Monty Brown

The show goes off the air as Brown celebrates with the title and Jarrett stares down Christian with anger in his eyes, the closing shot being Christian Cage standing with a smirk upon his face.
