Yeah, I do agree, had a lot of potential to do more and they should have.
Another recommendation, from a movie I watched today, which an Irish film from this year: The Guard. Similar to movies like In Bruges, a great black comedy and with a fantastic performance from Brendan Gleeson (which In Bruges also has) and he's another guy I feel should definitely get an Oscar nod... but won't. Think there's a good chance he will get a BAFTA nom though.
i liked super 8, it had the mood of speilberg's amazing stories tv show from the 80s. i recently saw let the right one in, great movie, heard they remade it though as let me in, havent seen the remake was it any good? i doubt they could capture the same atmosphere

Let the Right One In is incredible, the remake is decent, quite good for a remake actually, but it definitely doesn't have the same atmosphere. I like to compare them by saying Let the Right One In is a story about kids, one of whom just happens to be a vampire, and the relationship that develops between them and what not, whereas Let Me In is more about a vampire... who just happens to be a kid, much more of an all out vampire movie than the original.

50/50 kicks ass, and I believe I recommend it myself a page or two back. Haven't seen the others, but I'm a big fan of all the people listed on the poster for Birds of America, so might have to check that out.
It's a great movie. Matthew Perry is great in it, but Ben Foster steals the show like always as his headcase little brother. The Rules Of Attraction is an American Psycho sequel/spin-off where James Van Der Beak plays Patrick Batemens drug dealing little brother. The movie had WB network execs in a tizzy because it featured the networks two biggest stars at the time (James Van Der Beak of Dawsons Creek and Jeesica Biel of 7th heaven) engaging in sex scenes, cocaine use and other wonderful occurrences. James Van Der Beak punches Jessica Biel in the face, caused a stir. Shannyn Sossaman is in it and thats always a win. Great performance by Faye Dunaway as well.

Woah, woah, woah, an American Psycho spinoff? How in the blue hell didn't I know about this? lol. I heard the name before, but never knew much about the movie and had no idea it was connected to American Psycho. For that reason, and the many other things you mentioned, lol, I will definitely be checking that out.
LOL yes, the writer of American Psycho wrote this book after American Psycho about Patrick Batemans little brother and the lives he ruins during his time in college as a charismatic drug dealer/pot head/sex addict. Instead of the 80's it's the mid-90's as it's a new generation of Bateman. He isn't homicidal but he is paranoid schizophrenic and totally not there.

cept Rules Of Attraction (novel) came out in 87 and American Psycho in 91, so it came first
"We’re fighting because Anderson doesn’t want to fight me. Anderson trained with Munoz, he got destroyed by Munoz, he doesn’t want to fight Mark. Ed Soares, Anderson’s manager, worked diligently behind the scenes to make Mark and I fight each other. So I don’t have a big problem fighting Mark. my resentment is that Anderson got his way.”
